The only way to really fix it easily is to remove the Symantec software.To be able to do this i deployed silently the uninstaler PKG from Symantec (part of the ZIP file downloaded from Symantec) this is fine but now you must run this manually!Saying you need to update or uninstall SEP, is a given, so I won't be submitting an answer.Symantec has updated their technical documentation pages to support Windows 10.
Anti-virus software can, when the virus definition file is kept current, automatically find and remove viruses and other malware.
If you see a slash over the gold icon, it is not running and should be enabled.
Virus definition files search for known patterns in your files and are updated at least daily.
Symantec Endpoint Protection should automatically enable itself upon installation.
If all is well, you should see a gold shield icon in the lower right of your desktop.
